Lead can be found on interior or exterior painted surfaces primarily on structures previous to 1978. Lead based paint is an extreme hazard in a home. If a child ingests lead into their system the risk of brain damage or other illnesses is very likely and the cure is extremely painful. There is a law in Illinois, “Title X”, which requires sellers of homes that predate 1978 to disclose lead based paint in their homes. The reports typically take 4 days.
